Yeah so when I'm done with school I'm going to move into a big house with my friends. The kind of house that is so big you don't realise there are other people in it sometimes and I'll wake up one morning and ride a miniature bike down to the kitchen in my t-shirt and underwear and run into my friend (who shall be called Luke) that I haven't seen in a while because he stayed the night with one of my many room mates and he'll help me take the bike down the spiral stairs and we'll eat rice bubbles together and I'll hear about his bands gig the night before. And then I'll find a ridiculous hat to wear and we'll start talking about making our own band for jokes, then next thing we know we're recording a video of him playing guitar and me sing-talking these really cute lyrics that we wrote together.
Then another friend (hypothetically called Jeremy, he also has dreadlocks) will come through the front door and drop his keys on the table next to it and put his bag on the floor and come sit on the kitchen bench next to us even though he doesn't live here. He just came over to play. And then he'll go outside to roll a cigarette and I'll join him just so I can sit outside in our lovely garden with comfortable couches in the sun.
Then one of my room mates (Kim - who I nicknamed Kimbra) will finally come down stairs and join us too and she'll decide to interpret our dreams because she's that kind of person.
And the four of us silently decide that today none of us are leaving the house at all and we're going to sit here and drink freshly squeezed juice. Then the conversation will fade away and Luke will quietly play the guitar and Jeremy will hold Kimbra's hand while I have a nap.
When I wake up an hour later, Luke is still there with his notebook and guitar. The sound of Imogen's (room mate number two) voice woke me up because she's got this real distinctive, husky voice. She'll tell me that they've all decided that Luke's band is going to play at our house in our awesome basement with carpets and brick walls and all my favourite people are going to come over and drink wine with me. So I go upstairs into my real light, open bedroom and call my kissing friend to tell him to come over. So I put on this overly formal red lacy dress at 3pm because I was excited to see him and I sit with him in our library and talk to him about the holiday that we're planning. Me and him decided we're going to hang out in Paris. It's not supposed to be romantic, we literally just want to recreate the scene in An Education, even though it is romantic. Whatever.
By this time, the sun starts to go down and Jeremy calls us for our "family" dinner. The other two room mates have suddenly appeared, Landon and Jack, and I sit around my huge wooden table with seven others as they make hilarious jokes and get into heated debates about useless shit that I stopped listening to ages ago.
And I keep drinking my red wine until I realise that everyone has arrived for our party and I dance to jazz music outside under my coloured light bulbs that Kimbra and I hung up earlier that week. Then I keep hugging more people and dancing until sunrise where I'm sitting with my kissing friend on the roof of our house and I'm so tired so I take him to bed and I play quiet acoustic music while he tells me a secret of his and he'll tickle my back as I go to sleep.
Then I wake up the next day and realise that yesterday was the best day of my life.
